The May 17 Open Campus was a lively and welcoming event for the DGi Department. We were pleased to see many high school students and their parents join us.
5月17日に開催された第１回オープンキャンパス様子を報告します。今回のオープンキャンパスは、国際学部グローバル・イノベーション学科※（DGi）にとって活気に満ちた温かい雰囲気のイベントとなりました。当日は、100名以上の高校生や保護者の皆様に、学科イベントや個別相談ブースにご参加いただき、大変嬉しく思います。
The event began with Associate Professor Thomson, who introduced the concept of Global Innovation and explained the steps involved in achieving it.イベントは、トムソン先生による「グローバル・イノベーション」という概念の紹介と、それを実現するための学びの４ステップの説明から始まりました。
Next, Associate Professor Cotter led an interactive workshop on an example of global innovation: the revitalization of indigenous languages. Many indigenous languages have become in danger of dying out due to the effects of colonization. He shared how innovation can play a key role in learning—and relearning—languages such as Māori and Ainu. Participants had the chance to try out one of these innovative language-learning methods for themselves.
続いてコッター先生による「グローバル・イノベーション」の具体例として「先住民族言語の再活性化」をテーマとした体験型ワークショップを行いました。多くの先住民言語は、植民地化の影響で消滅の危機に瀕しています。 このワークを通して、マオリ語やアイヌ語といった言語の「学び直し」において、イノベーションが果たす重要な役割について紹介し、参加者自身もその学習方法の一部を実際に体験しました。
To wrap up the day, Associate Professor Tanaka gave a detailed overview of the DGi Department, including the curriculum and study abroad opportunities.
最後に、田中先生からDGiのカリキュラムや留学制度などについて詳しく説明し、イベントを締めくくりました。
