短期大学部英文学科は、2023年度 実用英語技能検定において、特に優れた成績を収めた団体に送られる優秀団体賞「文部科学大臣賞」を受賞しました。
今回受賞した「文部科学大臣賞」は、日本英語検定協会から英検（2級以上）合格者数が最も多かった団体に贈られる賞で、昨年に続き、2年連続の受賞となります。
短期大学部英文学科は、「英語技能演習」という試験対策に向けた授業以外に、ライティング・ラボに常駐しているチューターから2次面接の練習を受ける機会を設けています。また、「スタディ・スキル」という科目を通して、アカデミック・アドバイザー（担任）が学生と１対１で面談し、学習目標の設定や日々の学習へのアドバイスを行うなどの支援も重要視しております。 2025年からは学生募集停止となりますが、在校生には、真の国際人の育成を目指し、実社会や留学等で必要とされる英語力の向上を目標とした教育を続けて参ります。

The Junior College Department of English received the Minister of Education Award (group category) from the Eiken Foundation of Japan.
The Junior College Department of English has once again received the Minister of Education Award (文部科学大臣賞（団体の部）), which is awarded to organizations that have achieved particularly outstanding results in the 2023 Test in Practical English Proficiency.
This is the second year in a row that the Junior College has received this award, which is presented by the Eiken Foundation of Japan to organizations with the highest number of students passing the Test in Practical English Proficiency (Level 2 or above).
In addition to the ‘English Skills Practice’ (英語技能演習) classes, which are designed to prepare students for the examinations, the Department of English Literature in the Junior College offers students the opportunity to practice for their second interview with tutors who are stationed in our Writing Lab. The department also places great importance on support through a subject called ‘Study Skills’, in which academic advisors (homeroom teachers) meet with students on a one-to-one basis to set learning goals and provide advice on day-to-day study. Although we will stop accepting students from 2025, we will continue to educate our current students with the aim of developing true international citizens and improving their English language skills, which are required in the real world and for studying abroad.
