▲Fenty Siregar先生

Hokusei Gakuen University is pleased to welcome Dr. Fenty Siregar from our partner institution, Maranatha Christian University, Indonesia, as an exchange faculty for the Fall Semester of 2026. Her stay at Hokusei will run from September through December 2026.
Dr. Siregar was originally scheduled to visit Hokusei in the 2021 academic year; however, her visit had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, she kindly taught classes online for our students in 2021, and an online postgraduate course entitled Intercultural Language Learning and Teaching in 2024. We[FS1.1] are delighted that her long-awaited visit has finally become a reality.
Dr. Siregar specializes in English language education. Her research focuses on English education in Indonesia, where English is learned as a second language, much like in Japan. In particular, she explores the educational benefits of Extensive Reading and its implementation in language teaching.
During the Fall Semester of the 2026 academic year, Dr. Siregar is teaching the following international exchange courses at Hokusei:

1. Special Lecture on International Exchange E
Indonesian Culture (Tuesday, 4th Period)
2. Special Lecture on International Exchange F
Introduction to Teaching Extensive Reading (Wednesday, 2nd Period)
3. Special Lecture on International Exchange G (A)
Intercultural Communication (Thursday, 3rd Period)
4. Special Lecture on International Exchange Ｇ (B)
Intercultural Language Learning (Friday, 3rd Period)

This is a valuable opportunity for students to learn from a different cultural and educational perspective. We encourage all students to take Dr. Siregar’s classes and deepen their intercultural understanding through interaction with her.
