Hokusei Gakuen University offers the Online Japanese Language Program for accepted students.
We have created a video interview for our program with the cooperation of the students from our partner universities who took it from the Fall semester, 2020 to the Fall semester, 2021.

Due to the pandemic of COVID 19, Hokusei Gakuen University has continued to suspend the acceptance of exchange students from the second semester of 2020.
We would appreciate it if students from overseas who are unable to study in Japan now could experience our excellent Japanese Language program on line and become interested in our exchange program!

  • "Ms. Zakira Gustriana Nurshabrina (Indonesia: Maranatha Christian University, Junior)"
    She is a serious student who is working hard to improve her Japanese and always writes polite Japanese sentences in her e-mails when she contacts us.
    She is very interested in Japanese animation and music, and she was scheduled to come to Japan as an exchange student at Hokusei Gakuen university for the Fall semester, 2021, but she was unable to come to our university because our exchange program was cancelled due to the COVID19 pandemic.
    Instead, she took the Online Japanese Language Program twice in the Fall semester of 2020 and 2021 with great enthusiasm and diligence and improved her Japanese language skills.
  • "Mr. Martín Tena Castro (Spain: San Pablo University, Junior)"
    He is so enthusiastic and motivated to learn Japanese that he has taken the Online Japanese
    Language Program twice, in the Spring and Fall semesters of 2021.
    He is a very cooperative student who takes an active role in everything he does.
    He has a strong desire to visit Japan and has passionate feelings about Japan and Japanese culture.
  • "Ms. Mia Hooley (The United Kingdom: University of Central Lancashire, senior)"
    She has the experience of spending one year at our university as an exchange student from the Fall semester, 2019 to the Spring semester, 2020.
    She has been very motivated to study Japanese since her study abroad, and her Japanese skills have further improved through the Online Japanese Language Program in the Spring semester of 2021.
  • "Mr. Lee Jong-min (Korea: The Catholic University of Korea, senior)"
    He has taken the Online Japanese Language Program twice, in the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 programs and is highly motivated to study Japanese.
    He has a very high level of Japanese language proficiency and will be a member of the advanced class in the Spring semester of 2021.
    He has a wealth of knowledge in various genres, such as Japanese history, social issues, and movies.
    He was scheduled to come to Japan as an exchange student at Hokusei Gakuen University for the Fall semester, 2021, but he was unable to come to our university because our exchange program was cancelled due to the COVID19 pandemic.
    Therefore, he is eager to study at a graduate university in Japan in the future.
